My favorite holiday is 4th of July, Independance Day.  On the 4th of July I go to my grandparent’s cottage. It is a thirty-five minute drive from my house and about a two minute walk to a beach.  We go there in the afternoon and have lunch with my family and then at night we would meet at the beach around six at night and watch the fireworks go off.  We go back to the cottage a few hours later and have something to eat like watermelon or cake or something of that sort.  Then sometimes we stay there all night and sleep over or we go home. 

        The most precious people in my life are my grandparents.  My moms parents live in Jupiter, Florida.  There house is in such an amazing area.  There are so many famous people like Bill Parcel.  My grandfather saw him one day at a grocery store and got his autograph for me.  My favorite football team is the Miami Dolphins and he is now going to be the coach for them.  My grandmother is very nice and whenever they come to visit us brings me presents.  Whenever I see my grandparents I get very excited because I know I am going to do something exciting with them.

        My grandparents that live near me are also very precious to me.  They live about thirty minutes away from me and I see them about once every week.  My grandmother always knows what I like to eat and she always will have it for me.  My grandfather also knows that I like golf so he is always taking me to the driving range or out golfing.  He also gives me a lot of golf balls so I can practice.  My grandfather also gives me a lot of jobs that he pays me for.  If I ever need money he will always be there to give me something to do so I can make a few dollars.

       I am very lucky to have all my grandparents alive and don’t know how I would ever react if they passes away.  I love my grandparents a whole lot because they know so much about me.  They never yell at me and they try to do stuff to help me.  

I think the best thing about living were we live is the weather. Every three months we get something different.  In the Fall we have cool air but it does not get too cold out.  In the Winter we get snow and in most cases we’re excited for the snow because I get sick of the hot weather. In the Spring I get a good feeling because by then I am sick of the cold weather and my birthday is in the Spring.  The bad thing about Spring is that it can play tricks on you in the beginning it can be anywhere from 30-70 degrees fahrenheit. 

I think our school is unique because we have the nicest principle ever.  He is fair and easygoing.  He will always say hi to you with a smile on his face and rarely yells unless it’s needed.  He is giving us the chance to go on and 8th grade outing were we get to take a day off a school and go to a place with free food pools and games.  I hope when I go to high school the principle will as good!

Why use technology, well I think we should use technology for many great reasons.  Anyone and everyone can read what we write on blogs.  It can help someone with research if you wrote a blog about something.  You can’t just throw it out, it will stay there forever.  You can edit it; add pictures make it look fancy.  You can show it to people whenever you want.  When you use technology, most stuff is quicker, more organized and you can store everything so much so much easier.  You can hold thousands of pieces of paper in one small computer that would take up a lot more room if you put it all on paper.  

     Technology uses knowledge.  More knowledge shows that we are a stronger nation.  So if we keep trying to use more technology we will get smarter and more powerful.  Yes I may be over thinking this but I still believe its true.  I think technology is one of the most amazing tools in mankind because it can take us to space, and places that we have never been able to get without technology.  We can store papers in a little box that would take up a room if we you put it all on paper.  I can’t imagine life without it.  

    Technology should be used in all schools no matter what.  It make school easier and you can save time by researching on the internet then in books.  You can also type faster and spell correctly by using spell check.  It is obviously better and it takes stress out of kids life, I would know because I am a student.  It may make us lazier but we’re going to have to learn how to use it anyways because everything will be using technology when we’re working and we can teach our children.  If we did have technology in every school then we could have online classes were you can see a video of the teacher just like talking face to face.  I have done it in class and not is only is very cool, it’s fun.  I wish I could be in school in thirty years because then I would know what it’s like to use as much technology in every class just like my social studies teacher this year.  The reason why is because, quicker, more efficient, and just better. 

High school is going to be a big change and im not nervous for it.  I have a an older and brother and sister there so hopefully the teachers liked them.  Then I will have a good easy start with the teachers at least.  I dont think I should have a problem with older kids because I can try to keep my distance from them.  When I get there I might try to play football and I am definetly going to try to play basketball.   I am also hoping to meet new people and new teachers.  I also want to be able to have good grades in all my classes and not have too much homework.  I usually spend and hour a day on homework and I have a bad feeling I am going to have to spend more time.  I think high school will be more fun and harder than middle school but I am looking forward to going

      Martin Luther King day is day we should take to remember all the struggles that King went though to make our country better.  He made African American’s lives better and more equal.  Its a day to remember his protesting and speeches like the “I had a dream” speach.  He ruined his life by going into prison getting beaten and he stood strong throughout the whole time.  He should be known as a role model and a friend to everyone.  If he didnt come through we could be in a big war and many people could have died or someone else could have come along and done a better job.  MLK day should be taken off to let us remeber him.

I thought this video was funny but in a way, related to computers.  People didnt know how to use computers, and this is showing a person not being able to use a book and worry that the information will disappear like people worry about that happening to a computer.   When the man didnt know how to turn the book cover open is like how people cant turn on computers.  He was getting scared of the text disappearing like people get scared of all of your work disappearing on your computer.  I think this video was just making a connection to computers and books.

     My grandparents definitely influenced my life a lot.  They would always tell me how good I did in school so what that made me do was keep my effort up so they would keep thinking the same thing.  My grandfather also like sports and so did I so that is when I started playing basketball. He comes to my games all the time and I enjoy playing it.  My grandma is always saying what a good kid I am and she always says I will grow and be successful.  My grandparents are always encouraging me to do more things and play more sports and I like that because they help me live my life as best as I can

“Students need to be advanced in technology and college is important.”

I think James Vumbaco said this quote because if you dont go to college then you might not make as much money as you usually would if you go to college.  I read a little pamphlet and it showed if you got a college degree then you were more likely to make more money then a highschool drop out and also a high school graduate without a college degree.  To go to college you need to be able to use technology. I would agree with James Vumbaco.
